Blog #4

I have made some progress in my Genius Project by finding more ways to help lower income kids to have the opportunity to play in a competitive level without the extra cost.
       -It's important that we understand that someone with the capability isn't better than someone who doesn't have the chance
             -For example, one way I found useful was creating a non-profit competitive league. This will help kids have the ability to play without the concerns. Another way is to help make an organization that helps give kids the equipment needed for this sport. Finally, in my personal experience, I was able to play in a high level with scholarships my club gave out and help me reduce the cost.

Blog #3

-Something new I learned is how low the opportunity of low income families to have their kids in the sport they love. In an article by Heath News written by Patti Neighmond, she states "Only 15 percent of lower-income adults say they play sports. That's compared to 37 percent of higher-income adults who say they play sports" That number is surprising because I didn't know it was something that big.
             -This information helps me better to understand the problem and to come up with something to overcome the statistics and open doors for these kids

    -Hi, My name is Antonio Chavez, and I currently attend Summit Tahoma for my second year. Something that I am very excited for the Genius project is that we get to study and further bring out our ideas that we are all truly passionate about.
    -I am very passionate about soccer, I've been surrounded by this sport since a little kid and motivates me to come up with something to do with soccer for this project.

•  These past couple of days into the Genius Project I was capable of getting one blog done and was able to fully focus on one particular subject I want to work with
• Something that I am very passionate about is playing and competing in the sport of soccer, but I understand I'm very lucky to even have this opportunity to play step in the pitch every weekend because many kids my age would do anything to have this chance.
•  I'm feeling very passionate about my topic to focus for the remainder of the Genius Project.
